睡覺的時間愈來愈短,對睡眠的需求也愈來愈少。

已經有一個星期。起初由於蚊子咬,及後大概是心理作用:明明沒有蚊子卻自然感到痕癢。

二時入睡,四時醒。

或者呆望著天花板、或者思考、或者勉強入睡。

到了六時,我再不能入睡。

睡不著。

不能睡。

睡不好。

 

白天我仍然有用不盡的精力。

我晝晝、閱讀、看電視、思考、有時甚至寫作。

一天多出了幾個小時,我實在要為深夜安排一點節目。

在光線不足而又不能作聲的情形下,我只好思考。

然而思考對睡眠有害,愈思考愈精神;想得愈多愈感煩惱;煩惱不能使人入睡。

於是一天又開始了
